After a couple of weeks off, Robinson High School's baseball team picked up where they left off.
The Maroons opened their summer schedule with a pair of wins at Altamont Monday (June 3), winning game one 3-1 and game two 2-0.
In game one, Robinson scored a run in the top of the first to take an early lead and the Maroons held that margin until Altamont plated a run in the fourth to tie the game. The Maroons answered right back with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth and held on for the win.
Sawyer Hoalt led RHS at the plate with a double and a single, while Owen Austin singled and scored a run. Chris Jones added a base hit, Wylie Bonnell and Lennon Sempsrote each scored a run and Ryder O'Neal drove in a run.
Elliott Stifle earned the win on the mound, allowing a run on four hits, while walking three and striking out five in five innings.
In game two, Robinson scored single runs in the second and fourth innings and made it stand up.
Bonnell led RHS at the plate with a single and a run batted in, while Austin and Sempsrote posted a base hit apiece, Tyler Weber and Wrigley Young each scored a run and Hoalt drove in a run.
Jones picked up the win on the mound, allowing two hits, walking two and striking out eight in four innings. Taylor Maxwell tossed a scoreless fifth inning with a walk and a strikeout to earn the save.
