Nearly a dozen Robinson High School athletes were recognized for their achievements on the diamond this past season by being among players tabbed to the All-Little Illini Conference baseball and softball teams.
Robinson had seven players make the All-LIC baseball teams, including three on the First Team.
Among the 17 players named to the First Team were RHS juniors Brayden Childress, Kade Lassen and Landon Roy.
Childress batted .410 (34-83) this season, including a team-high four home runs, seven doubles, 29 runs scored and 20 runs batted in.
On the mound, Childress posted a 7-1 record with one save in 11 games with a 3.96 ERA. He also walked 23 and struck out 62 in 38.2 innings pitched.
Lassen posted a team-leading .427 batting average (38-39) with three home runs, nine doubles, two triples, 35 runs scored and 26 runs batted in.
He also pitched in three games, posting a 0.00 ERA with eight strikeouts and no walks in two and two-thirds innings of work.
Roy finished the year with a .326 average (28-86), including two home runs, four doubles, one triple, 26 runs scored and 21 runs batted in.
On the mound, Roy went 1-1 with two saves and a 1.72 ERA in eight appearances, walking seven batters and striking out 21 in 15.2 innings of work.
Robinson also placed three players - seniors Levi Hodge, Logan Sexton and Cade Slaughter - on the Second Team.
Hodge recorded a .358 batting average (29-81), including one home run, eight doubles, one triple, 25 runs scored and 22 runs batted in, while totaling a 3-2 record with a 2.25 ERA in 10 appearances on the mound. He threw 40 innings and walked 17 batters while striking out 27.
Sexton hit .373 this season (31-83), including three home runs, five doubles, 18 runs batted in and 13 runs scored.
As for Slaughter, he batted .250 (19-76) with three home runs, three doubles, 21 runs batted in and 11 runs scored, while on the mound he went 6-2 with a 4.95 ERA in 12 appearances. He tossed a team-leading 43.2 innings and walked 27 batters and struck out 49.
In addition, RHS junior Tyler Weber was one of nine players named to the Honorable Mention list.
Weber ended the year with a .236 batting average (17-72), including four doubles, one triple, 12 runs scored and 11 runs batted in.
Meanwhile, four softball players receive All-LIC accolades.
Named to the First Team for RHS were senior Jaedyn Johnson and junior Hailey Dean.
Johnson batted .386 for the Lady Maroons this season, including three home runs, 10 doubles, 23 runs scored and 14 runs batted in, while Dean totaled a .380 average with two home runs, two doubles, 14 runs batted in and five runs scored.
Tabbed to the Second Team for RHS was freshman Livia Smith.
Smith finished the year with a .358 batting average, including four home runs, six doubles, 19 runs scored and 14 runs batted in.
Robinson had one Honorable Mention selection in sophomore Kyrsten White.
White finished the year with a 4-3 record overall, but posted a 2.23 ERA in conference play.
