Lady Maroons beat Lawrenceville, 11-6
| For the second time in three days, Robinson High School's softball team picked up a win against the same Little Illini Conference opponent.|
After opening the Robinson Invitational Saturday with a win over Lawrenceville (7-1), the Lady Maroons scored another victory over the Lady Indians, taking the Little Illini Conference contest with an 11-6 win Monday (April 30) in Robinson.
The game was scoreless until the third inning, when Lawrenceville struck for a run to take a 1-0 lead. That leas was short-lived, as Robinson responded with three runs in their half of the inning. Lawrenceville came back with a run in the top of the fourth, only for Robinson to counter with five runs in the bottom of the inning to make the score 8-2. Lawrenceville would fight back, scoring once in the fifth and three times in the sixth to pull within 8-6, but Robinson would tack on three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal the victory.
Malia Gunn led RHS at the plate with a home run, two singles, three runs batted in and three runs scored, while Maddie Morris singled three times, scored three runs and drove in a pair of runs. Shawna Windham doubled, singled and knocked in two runs, J.J. Logan singled three times and drove in a run, Madi Staley added a base hit, two runs scored and a run batted in, Jaedyn Johnson singled, drove in a run and scored a run, Addy Paddock singled and scored a run, Hailey Dean had a base hit and Marley McKee scored a run.
Tess Krause earned the win on the mound, allowing six runs, three earned, on 10 hits and three walks in seven innings.
