Woman faces battery, assault charges
A Hutsonville woman is facing multiple charges following an arrest made Monday.

Saturday night Catrina R. Cotton, 30, was driving a vehicle near Annapolis when it suddenly died. According to the Crawford County Sheriff's Office reports, Cotton abandoned the vehicle and went to a neighboring house of someone she knew. When she entered she found a familiar person sleeping on the couch, but ran and hid in the closet when the person awoke.

Cotton then fled the house and ran to a neighboring mobile home in the area of 2000N and 700E, where she was confronted by the owner and again fled about 5:50 a.m. She ran into a nearby cornfield, but turned to fend off Damien Williams, no age listed, Annapolis, with a knife and allegedly threatened bodily harm, the report said. The knife was taken from her and she ran again. It was around this time the sheriff's office was alerted.

Cotton left the area and was not seen again until Monday morning at her husband's house at 401 S. Rose in Hutsonville. During a confrontation Cotton allegedly attacked her husband, Ronald York, 49, Hutsonville, with a wooden backscratcher in the garage. She was later taken into custody by deputies at the house.

She is being charged with domestic battery against her husband and aggravated assault against Williams. Cotton was released from Crawford County Jail after posting bond.
